Gymnastics Tip of the Month

How to Improve Your Toe Point

Everyone's feet are unique! Some may naturally have a more sickle shape, while others tend to be straighter when pointed. While anatomical differences play a role, you can enhance your toe point strength and flexibility by focusing on specific exercises.

1. Hold a Pointed Toe Position: Sit in a pike and hold your toes in a pointed position for 30 seconds to 1 minute. This helps improve flexibility and muscle memory.

2. Practice Sitting on Your Toes: Try sitting back onto your toes like shown in the picture. Hold the position for 15-30 seconds to build strength and balance.

3. Strengthen with Resistance: Use a resistance band to help push your toes into a pointed position. Perform 20-30 repetitions, focusing on controlled movements to strengthen the muscles and ligaments involved in pointing your toes.
