Hello Gymnastics USA Families!

May is one of our most exciting months of the year at Gymnastics USA! As we wrap up an incredible competitive season and head into summer, we have so much to celebrate and look forward to.

G.USA Olympics – May 16th

The biggest event of the year is just around the corner! The G.USA Olympics is where all our recreational athletes get to shine. Gymnasts will rotate through fun, Olympic-style events, show off the skills they’ve been working on, and celebrate their progress.

Families are invited to come cheer on their athletes as they experience the excitement of a “competition-style” event in a fun and supportive environment. We can’t wait to see our gym filled with smiles and lots of proud moments!

Gymnastics Tip of the Month

Success in competition starts with how you prepare. Use these strategies to train like it’s the real moment:

1. Practice the Full Routine

Train exactly what you plan to perform. Recreate the competition environment as closely as possible without lead-up, drills or progressions. This builds confidence and consistency under pressure.

If something goes wrong, stop immediately and start from the beginning. Repeating only the mistake can reinforce bad habits. Training your routine correctly, from start to finish, is what builds reliability.

2. Reset After Mistakes

3. Use Video Feedback

Record your routines, watch them carefully, and make corrections. Seeing your performance from the outside helps you catch details you might not feel in the moment.

Thank you, G.USA Families!
