OCTOBER 2025 | ISSUE 10 | VOL 08

Hello Gymnastics USA Families!

We are thrilled to jump into October with excitement, new challenges, and plenty of fall spirit in the gym! This month brings not only new skills and hard work, but also some extra fun as we celebrate the season together. Our biggest Parent’s Night Out Bash is on the 17th this month – our Halloween Bash! Don’t forget to sign up ahead of time for this event. If you’re a Gold Member, this event is FREE for you! Our coaches will have a pumpkin decorating contest the last week of October! Don’t forget to have your athletes vote for their favorite pumpkin. Keep reading for our Gymnastics Tip of the Month, October’s Gymnast of the Month, and other important upcoming dates.

Gymnastics Tip of the Month

Don't move on until you've made an improvement. When learning a new skill, it's crucial to end each training session with some progress. Leaving without improvement can lead to stagnation or even regression. If you're struggling with a skill, follow these steps:

1. Identify the problem: Ask your coach for specific feedback on what needs improvement.

2. Break it down: Practice just the problematic part of the skill or sequence, rather than the entire movement.

3. Refocus and attempt: Try the full skill again, keeping the identified issue in mind. Evaluate and repeat: If you've made progress, you can either move on or attempt the skill correctly two more times (never more).

Remember, consistent small improvements lead to mastery!
