Although you are permitted to drop out of the Olympics, you truly should not unless it is totally unavoidable. The Olympics is the culmination of the recreational program every year and is part of our program. This is what the athletes having been working so hard for.
Don't regret removing your athlete from this big event, their peers will be talking about it and working toward it in each class!

Hello Gymnastics USA Families!
We are so excited to kick off September with lots of energy, new skills, and fresh goals in the gym. As the school year gets underway, it’s the perfect time to celebrate hard work, highlight our amazing athletes, and share helpful tips to keep our gymnasts growing strong. Read on to see who earned Gymnast of the Month and to check out this month’s gymnastics tip!

Gymnastics Tip of the Month
Don’t Just Toss It!
It’s tempting to simply “throw” the skill you’re trying to learn or master, but this method doesn’t usually work. Instead, try, then stop and think before attempting again. You can do this by either receiving feedback from your coach or watching a video of yourself.
For example, if your cartwheel is crooked or veering to the side, don’t just keep trying (as if you’re throwing dice) until it’s straight. That approach won’t fix it. Instead, after each attempt, reflect on what might be causing the crookedness. Try a drill or walk through the movement slowly and mindfully, then try again.
This process might take many tries, but with each attempt, you’re trialing and erroring until the right technique finally reveals itself.
